Visits to the Boulby Underground Science facility.

In addition to the scheduled program of talks we will be organizing visits to Boulby mine for a number of registered delagates wishing to see first-hand the underground science facility and the science currently underway. As the workshop speakers schedule is tight, visits are offered on the days immediately before and after the workshop (Fri 20th and Mon 23rd of October).

Transport from York to Boulby will be by minibus - leaving King's Manor (the workshop venue) at 10:30am on both the Friday and Monday. The journey takes about 1 hr. At Boulby there will be an introductory safety talk, followed by a tour of the surface buildings, then a trip underground to the science facility. The underground visit will take approximately 2 hours. All required clothing, footware and safety equipment will be provided. The minibus will be back in York by 6pm at the latest.

To sign up for a visit please provide your name, email address and your preferred day of visit in the boxes below. Numbers of available places are limited so please sign-up as soon as possible. (Note: visits on other days/times may also be possible for those who cannot make it this time. Please get in touch for more information.)
