Model Details

April 2013

April 2013 notes.

Quad Sub Model 06 - 29/04/2013 - Model Still Running Solution Not Yet Available
Quad Sub Model 06 op3 - solution file.
Quad Sub Model 06 - associated build files.
Solve Time = xx hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid Mode - 240MeV/c - No return yoke.

Incorporporating recent mesh changes in Hall Model.

Model 79 - 17/04/2013 - Model Still Running Solution Not Yet Available
Seems to have crashed on first and second attempts to solve. Hope this is not due to mesh changes...
test model 79 op3 - solution file.
test model 79 - associated build files.
Solve Time = xx hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid Mode - 240MeV/c - No return yoke.

Further mesh refinements for trialing.

Model 78 - 17/04/2013
test model 78 op3 - solution file.
test model 78 - associated build files.
Solve Time = 113 hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid Mode - 240MeV/c - No return yoke.

I haven't yet checked the output from model 77 but whilst that model has been solving I have improved the meshing in the North & South Shield Wall anyway. This is a test run to ascertain whether the changes have achieved anything.

Model 77 - 13/04/2013
test model 77 op3 - solution file.
test model 77 - associated build files.
Solve Time = 66 hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid Mode - 240MeV/c - No return yoke.

This model is to check some mesh improvements that have been made (see notes.) If they work then it may be worth the time and effort to improve the shield walls.

Model 71 - 10/04/2013 - Model Still Running Solution Not Yet Available
test model 71 op3 - solution file.
test model 71 - associated build files.
Solve Time = 54 hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid Mode - 240MeV/c - No return yoke.

As model 61 but the boundary conditions have now been set further out. The model boundary is now at +/-60m in z and +/-40m in x and y. I have slightly increased the size of the elements in the outer air and the boundary volumes to try and keep the number of elements in the model approximately the same. This model is to trial the solve time.

08/04/2013 Note that some of the models ran in early April are listed in the March section to keep the model numbers in order. (These were the models ran over the easter break as a batch.)
