Model 33 - 30/11/2012
test model 33 op3 - solution file

Solve Time = 31 hours.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid - 240MeV/c.
After many problems with version 15R3 of opera we have gone back to version 15R2. This is the first model to be run on 15R2 and was run as a new baseline. This model is step IV of the Mice Hall with no additional racks. I forgot to take a snapshot of the .comi but it is effectively the same as model 34 except that the racks are turned off, so you can use the .comi included in the model 34 directory for reference.

Model 32

Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid - 240MeV/c.
- test model - ignore as I can't remember why this model was run...

Model 31

test model 31 - comi snapshot.
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid - 240MeV/c.
Model 31 is an improved model of the compressor locations on the West Wall. The compressors are now sized spaced and located correctly. The only known discrepancy is that the Sumitomo compressors are approximately 50mm closer to the floor than in the diagram to aid meshing. All of the steel mass is assumed to be in the casing. Cryomech=178kg -> 16.6mm. Sumitomo = 96kg -> 15.25mm. NSW Racks = 158kg Rack Mass -> 6.1mm. I have made sure that all elements are quadratic from this model onwards.

21/11/2012 - Note: In moving to OPERA 15R3 some meshing errors were discovered in this model. These errors have probably been lurking in most of the previous models. I don't think that any of the errors were catastrophic to the functioning of the model, i.e. I don't believe that the results would have been adversely affected, but it is something to bear in mind.

Model 30
test model 30 op3 - solution file

Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid - 240MeV/c.
Model 30 is the first 'guess' at the location of the Cryomech compressors on the proposed West Mezzanine and the Sumitomo compressors on the West Floor. The dimensions and locations will be firmed up on another model iteration. The plant room/MLCR was not included in this model to help speed up solve time. First solve using 15R3 which completed in 21 hours!

Model 29 - 08/11/2012
test model 29 op3 - solution file
test model 29 - associated files
Magnet Configuration: Step IV Solenoid - 240MeV/c.
Solve Time = 39 hours.
Model 29 is the first model to incorporate the plant room MLCR and racks. It also incorporates the compressors as seven stacks located against the West Wall but the material properties for the compressors were only set for one stack so this model is not representative.
