Protection for the members of the various collaborations with whom we cooperate to carry out research is realized through memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with these research groups. As of June 2010, The University of Sheffield is a member of the GEO600 and LIGO scientific collaborations. Daw and White, through spending more than 50% of their research time on LSC research have authorship rights on LSC/Virgo publications.

In addition, the University of Sheffield, through a £50k contribution to LOFAR-UK by the University, is a member of the LOFAR collaboration. Daw and Dhillon are members of the LOFAR transients key project.

LOFAR-sheffield MOU

There is now an approved MoU between the LSC and LOFAR. Under this agreement, there will be joint observations between the LSC and LOFAR during S6/VSR3 in August, September and October 2010.
