Thicknesses are measured at the 9 points marked t1 to t9. The target was seen to be slightly tapered; four diameters are measured as indicated: at the upsteam end, du1 to du4, and at the downstream end, dd1 to dd4, of the cylinder.
Note that the density is 15% below the standard value for carbon!!
