SCT Monitoring and Data Quality
- The SCT was a major UK Atlas investment and deliverable. Continous monitoring of the SCT data is essential to ensure high quality data for physics analyses. Dawson has played a key role in the development of the SCT monitoring and data quality framework since the early days. A recent Sheffield development was the creation of the official SCT offline DQ shifter tool to facilitate shifter DQ assessment. The results of the DQ assessment are used to create the "Good Runs Lists" used in physics analyses.
- A summary of the performance of the monitoring and data quality assessment during Run 1 was reported by Dawson in a recent ATLAS collaboration JINST publication: Operation and performance of the ATLAS semiconductor tracker.
- In 2016 Dawson will continue in his role as DQ expert for SCT operations, providing a significant chunk of the UK Atlas OTP effort in this area.
