Introduction to Cosmology Example Exam Question: Hints

Lecture 1: Introduction

What is Olbers' Paradox, and why was it considered paradoxical? [2]
This is bookwork. The main issue is to make sure (1) that you remember to say what Olbers' Paradox is, and (2) that you include all three conditions that are required in order for it to seem paradoxical.
Compare and contrast the resolution of Olbers' Paradox in the Big Bang and Steady State cosmological models. [3]
With "compare and contrast" questions, make sure you do compare and contrast. It is not enough just to give two separate answers to the two cases: you must focus on similarities and differences.
